Party Planner
In today's busy world, there has become a
need for services to simply people's lives.
One growing industry is party planning which
includes birthday parties, class reunions,
family reunions, weddings, holiday parties,
company parties, etc.
A party planner's main skill is
organization. A person who enjoys organizing
and putting together socials would enjoy
this business. As with most businesses, it's
usually better to specialize in a specific
area such as kids' parties and create unique
and fun themes. Kids' parties might include
a craft or game, or even a storyteller,
clown, magician, or other special guest who
may pay you a commission for booking them
for the party.
Ways to market your party planning
business include volunteering to plan small
parties in the community such as Cub Scouts
or sports team, passing out flyers around
the community/ neighborhood, placing
classified ads in local parenting papers,
having a booth at kids' fair or craft shows,
writing a party-planning tips sheet for your
local newspaper or doing a direct mail out
to area families. Typical rates for a
two-hour party for eight children is
$95-$220 depending on the area you live in.
Family reunions, class reunions, weddings
and other parties each have their specific
markets and advertising mediums. Take time
to decide which area you would most enjoy
and which offers the best opportunity for a
successful business in your community.
